Poker no-no's

Here are some things that you should obviously not do as a poker player. Surprisingly, more and more poker players are found guilty of doing them.

Being a too stern poker player. For some, poker becomes their life and they tend to take poker too seriously. They become too serious that they forget that poker is a game, first and foremost. Poker should be played for fun, for enjoyment. You let this slip your mind; you lose the real sense of poker.

After winning big, playing terribly. Just because luck has finally smiled upon you and your efforts finally paid off, you shouldn't throw your next game to waste. To be remembered as a good poker player, you must win consistently. You will not be remembered just because you won that single prestigious poker tournament.

Assuming that others play like you do. Deciding on your actions based only on your game strategy is a poker no-no. There are so many strategies in poker, and more combinations of these strategies can be put into play. Poker players will use different strategies interchangeably to confuse others, so watch out. You must observe how others think for you to think better.

Letting the odds control you. To be able to compute your outs is important in poker. However, if that is all you ever think about, then poker is not for you. In poker, you will learn to play even if the odds are against you. It is a sin in poker to always expect your cards to do everything for you. How would you like to be remembered - as "lucky in poker" or an "expert poker player"?

Playing more than enough poker. There are people who become obsessed with poker that they forget that there are more important things in life such as their family, friends, and other relationships. They become too buried in poker, leaving no time for the other aspects of their life. You will fin that leading another life than your poker life will be even good for your poker skills. That is because you become exposed to other things that will help you enhance your decision-making abilities.

Being too scared to see the turn. Sometimes, you also have to give your cards a chance to improve by seeing the turn. You'll regret it if you fold too much and see that some of your hands could have been good with the turn or the river. Poker, therefore, is also a test of guts.
